Best way to test FLDIGI is to feed an audio recording into your sound card from external source. My computer was acting a bit funny (Youtube video skipping and computer was slow and unresponsive while doing simple browsing) on Monday so I ran a Windows Defender virus scan.Ī full scan found Trojan:Win32/Tiggre!rfn, but it was unable to remove it and only said it was “remediation incomplete”. Accidentally turning that "on" can really turn things upside down - make sure it is not on (green). Another sneaky problem can be the "Reverse" Rv button on FLDIGI lower right. When I moved from WinXP to Win7 I had some trouble with setting up the audio devices to properly feed the audio from one app(SDR Console) to the otther(fldigi). I am running an SDR Play feeding Fldigi on Win7. It's very robust and works wonderfully when properly configured. I have been running FLDIGI since it first came out. Some of the audio sound systems within windows vista and beyond have some really screwy setups - but there are some really good instructions as to how to set them up. That mixer has to be enabled and set not to play thru the speakers ( usually results in a feedback loop within the PC). usually thru the "stereo mix" facility in Windows. The output of your SDR must be routed directly to the audio input of FLDIGI. Using the virtual audio cable should work, but I have had trouble with some of that software on Win7. The result can be that it appears you have a good psk signal into FLdigi but the "acoustically coupled" signal can be sufficiently distorted to render only gibberish. First It can falsely appear that the audio from ur SDR is routed directly to FLDIGI - when in fact the computers microphone (or web cam mic) is actually picking up the audio via the computers speakers. (diamond shape symbol in lower right) is green with no or fewīob, If you are running ur SDR on the same computer with FLDIGI there are a few situations which can be very confusing. During a lot of QSB the squelch slider has to beīrought down or like the other night copying the W1AW digitalīulletins at 6 PM ET the QSB was so bad I had to turn the squelchĪdjust the SDR# audio level so the Fldigi audio overload indicator When you have the correct mode setįor the signal you are receiving the green 'bubble' indicator will The squelch slider control on the right depends on your noise The label appear after hovering the cursor over the arrow for a bit. Signal level (dB)" and the right control is "Signal range". Take a look with FFT selected and see if the waveformĭisplayed appears to be centered (vertically). It will change to FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and again to SIG Lower left-hand corner you see WF (WaveForm). Maybe this affects the detection threshold. What it is called but is something like adjusting the audio waveform There is a procedure for adjusting the audio balance. Open the Audio tab and disable the Filter Audio. Have any filtering plug-ins or any of the digital filters or noiseīlankers be sure they are not set on that may affect the signal orĪudio. Select USB, bandwidth = 3,000, order = 1000. This is the only levelĬontrol I have but might be different with Virtual Cable software You need to set up your audio level to Fldigi. VB-Audio Virtual Cable and have excellent results with Fldigi. I have nearly the same setup as you and using SDRSharp but with
